If the roof simply has a huge hole i it and what's left isn't flopping in the wind there is no violation. Obviously it needs to get fixed, but that's because it's hard to pull van freight on a flatbed....Sirscrapntruckalot and P60608 Thank this.

One of the trailers at the CDL school I went to had no roof, and it wasn't built that way. They used it every day at the DMV for students to test with.

Um,,,an open top? What's all the fuss, then? I'd like to hear more how the back of the trailer roof gone missing? I can hear it now, driver to boss,, "the cargo is too tall, what do I do?"

Man I wish some flatbed shippers had the same attitude as you. I’m about tired of hauling cardboard boxes on a flatbed, and I haven’t even done it in a while.
