Is it bad to keep switching job as opportunities arrive?

In this current driver job market, not really.
You should be asked the reason for leaving each place, and hopefully the answer will not be that you wrecked their equipment. -
In the last year almost every application I have seen asks "How many jobs in the last 5 years,or was it 3 years?" I never saw that question in the past. EVERY company is short of some number of drivers, but the best companies are short the least number of drivers and they have the most choice among which applicants to hire. Getting into a top-notch company, if it fits you, can make life as a driver so much better. I'm suggesting instead of trying to get a job that is a little bit better than the current job, and then leaving in 1-2 years, take the beating now while the driver finds his "forever home" and stacks of many years of seniority, which makes the current job better and better. Obviously if the conditions or pay are too bad they can't be tolerated. It's tough to decide for everyone.

Straight time .Well if this one not 1000 after tax taken out I’ll quit in 2 weeks. Paying under is a slap in the face

No is the short answer. The reputable companies, can go to HireRight and see you're previous jobs.
You're taking a job at 20 bucks an hour. You gotta understand that there will be down weeks in trucking. I think you need to have some patience here and stick with a job long enough to make the kind of money you like. Nobody starts a trucking job making the best money or driving the newest truck. These companies know nothing about you when you first come in. Yes we would all like to make more money, but they will pay you what they can or what they think you're worth. I am a believer that the most sure fire way and quickest path to break a consistent 1000 plus a week after taxes is to get out here and burn up these highways. #OTRLifestylerichrr223 Thanks this. -
Otr for men with no kids , and don’t care they girls getting banged out

You right tho I see a lot of otr jobs paying over 15 -
OTR jobs usually quote high gross annual wage based on working maximum hours

OTR is for whoever man. I've gotta whole family at home. Wife and kids and the works. You got guys in the service leaving behind families for deployment. You got professional athletes, particularly NBA and NHL players who are on the road for long stretches. Many other high travel jobs out there too, and many of those workers have families. I only say that because I can never understand why OTR trucking is the only profession in which people mention those reasons as detractors. I do understand certain CDL holders wanting to be close to family though. By the same token, I've yet to hold CDL job in which long days weren't the norm...that's local and OTR. Anyway, you'll never find a shortage of jobs paying good money to go OTR. In this day and age, one can gross at minimum 75k if he or she runs properly, and joins the right company.richrr223 and God prefers Diesels Thank this.
