Crimp the fuel return line,,,don't laugh, one of my 1st trucking jobs in the 70's, ran BC's and part of the PM was to check the return line, I'd say, 90% of all the trucks I drove had a BC. You'll never get the power out of a BC like a Cat or new Detroit, without blowing it to smithereens, SO, do like I did, baby that sucker, and 400grand EASY, no problem, and sit back and let "The Columbus Vibrator" do all the work.
looking for a little more HP: Big Cam 400 NTC BC3

Bet you’re glad it’s in your yard now…been there done that.
Looks nice and clean in general
Kinda interesting that it’s got an old style canister fuel filter
That turbo can’t be to old either
I still think the air to air is worth it I have done it to both a big cam and a small cam and It made a difference in how they pulled. Exhaust temp also came down to until I added more fuel. I know it was mentioned that they are made to run on warm air and I would agree that the trucks I have switched smoke a little more when idling in the cold but it’s no worse than my 290 with no cooler. Never know on the aftermarket injectors might be great or might last a couple runs
Did they say what brandsodbuster59 Thanks this. -
I'll have to call spencer diesel to see if they can track that down, but I thought I'd wait to bother them till my buddy can open the pump to see how it's set.
Running warm is one of the things I'm thinking I want to be proactive on, so regardless what happens, if I push more fuel to it, I'm budgeting $ to keep it running overly warm. On the fuel filter, I'm toying around with installing one with a see-thru element, but they're not bashful about charging for them either!
I've got a few weeks of hauling corn once the crop is planted so will see how it pulls before getting radical.
Thanks!Last edited: Apr 13, 2022

I run one just like that one
It’s paid for and works fine I ended up putting a metal bowl on mine because the plastic one cracked and couldn’t seem to find a replacement
Might just check fuel pressure firstsodbuster59 Thanks this. -
Ehhh, great points made here. BUT Seen NTA420 small cams live well at 295lbs of fuel pressure.
Its on you as a driver, I'd install a HT60 turbo, 3° degree retarded key way, 2450rpm gov setting. BIGGEST supply lines you can afford, no 90° fittings. 30% over stock on pump and install a boost and pyro gauge. Drive it off the gauges and like you have a egg under the pedal. Still perk it up and be affordable if you keep your foot out of it. -
OH BTW a 1800 rpm, you best be looking for another gear. Do not lug it.

I think those are really free flowing injectors
I have a set I was thinking about putting in my w9 but not real high on my list
I also have mine set for 2500+ rpm to get full fuel to 2200 makes a big differenceOxbow and jamespmack Thank this.
