The title says it all.
no matter what I do the #### Apu keeps me awake and I wake up when it kicks on. I just couldn’t get use to it. So my only choice is to Dynamat the cab.
I’m wondering if anyones had it done and where it was done?
also if you have done it yourself, how big of a project is it? I assume the. Whole interior needs to come out.

It's is a big project to do it right you pretty much strip the whole cab and sleeper we had about a week into it when we restored a Peterbilt 359. It turn out great for quiet but I would not do it to my 389

I did the cab of my '03 379 many years ago and yes, it was quite a job (at least for me) to strip out the interior and I didn't pull the headliner.
To be honest, it didn't make that much difference in sound reduction considering the work involved.

I did the floor in my FLD when I was replacing the carpet. Seemed to help with keeping noise down and insulated the floor better. Not sure if I’d be up for stripping and entire interior to do the whole cab.

It is a lot harder for me to fall asleep when reefer is off. When it works, everything is peachy, happy sleeping.

Did the floor of the sleeper and cab. It helped quiet down the RTOO whine in top gear and the heat stays in quite a bit longer

I just bought some for the floor. It supposed to cut down noise transference vibration. It’s butyl rubber, same rubber used for inner tubes. A second closed cell sound and heat absorbing mat on top of it is suggested. There’s also combo all in one mats. Second skin has one. I used the Siless brand. It’s a lot less money. has another 50mil deadening on bottom, along with absorbing foam, and a strong top layer. Still cost over $200 to do the whole floor. The top mat is similar to a neoprene foam mat. Looks to be the same as original floor mat, only thinner. Depending on how much space is available. A thin layer of thick mass butyl rubber for vibration, and the thickest closed foam rubber, like neoprene would work best. Thicker the better. Other options are lightweight and much cheaper double sided foil mats. Some are just bubble or double bubble wrap. Others are more durable. A combination of butyl deadener, foil in layers and thick foam might be best for walls. Might as well consider heat/cold insulation factors as well. Get the benefits of both.
