Do you have a cat or the cummins? Before I bought the F550 I had, I went to look at a F650 that had the Cummins, but I was worried it would be underpowered in a large truck like that so I passed on it. (it needed a lot of work as well to be fair which was part of the reason I passed)

I'm also mixed on the med duty truck Cat's because I've heard they require a lot of specialty tools. No experience with them just what I was told. No idea if true or not.

Beds on the passenger side. I’m 6’4” and I fit in at full stretch just right

Cat 3126. Once I took off the 11r22.5 and went down to 255/70/22.5 it’s a whole new truck.

The only specialty tool would be if you need the ecm worked on. I’ll be doing injectors and the HEUI pump as preventative maintenance we’ll see how that goes

Ahh ok, someone told me you needed specialty tools if working on the heads and not many shops had them so it was hard to get worked on. That's good to know then, so I wont worry about those motors so much.

I'm already at 90k miles on my new 5500 Chevy... So I'm starting to toy with the idea of swapping trucks again and have been thinking of the med duty trucks with one of those single axle air ride car trailers.

Those aren't bad engines if the oil is changed regularly. The older 3126 version is slightly preferred to the C7 because some of the HEUI parts are easier and cheaper to replace. Smallest engine CAT made. Many mom and pop shops wont have the software to work on them but for an OTR truck you're better off taking it to a CAT shop anyway for major repair since they have to warranty the parts and labor.

Is that a sleeper on the back?

I know a guy around here who had an older FL50 with around 200k on it for sale for around 30-35k. It was pretty nice. He probably sold it by now but I've never thought to ask. (He's the guy who runs Dan's Hitches in Elkhart, IN.)
