I'm not going to litigate this with you.
The trainer is in a supervisory role and is supposed to be setting an example of proper workplace decorum. If she started things, it's his job to shut it down. It's not that hard to avoid talking about politics, religion, and sex. Anyone who can't do that shouldn't be training.
It is possible to create a training program where gender is not an issue, but the company has to genuinely want to. Prime elected to deal with the issue in 2004 by not dealing with it, thus there continuing problems.

In male/female trainer situations, it's not always the male that is a problem. I had a buddy who was training a female, and she flat out propositioned him. He said no thanks, and she turned him in for sexual harassment. Don't get me started about in-cab cameras, but his company had them and recorded the the entire mess. He was exonerated, but that is one reason in ten million I could list that convinced I would never, ever train.

I trained some when I was a city LTL driver. Females never lasted once they figured out it was more than bumping docks and having someone else do the unloading.
I really didn’t like training, everyone already seems to think they know everything.
But if I was OTR, no way, no chance I’d ever want to train and live with a total stranger in the space of a walk in closet.
I’d in no way want to train a female, all she has to do is say he touched me or he propositioned me or he raped me and it could be 100% BS. It could be some fat nasty hag I’d never even want to touch, but STILL she’d be believed. At least by some. Many have the opinion in todays times that women Must be believed.
Now I know most women wouldn’t lie about this sort of thing but if even 10% of women are capable of lying and destroying a reputation in the process that’s just too many.
I’ll not take the chance. The Crossword Trucker, jethro712 and Grouch Thank this. -
For 5 years, I was the "little boy" for a President of a major LTL company. I drove him and his staff around in a million dollar bus. I heard him say to his staff, "you sleep with your secretary tonight, you better fire her in the morning, if not, I will fire you"Another Canadian driver, MartinFromBC, Geekonthestreet and 1 other person Thank this.
