Semi crashes into back of School Bus

That is incredibly messed up. I don’t mess with school buses. I stay as far as clearing away from them as possible. That’s like the worst of the worst thing you could possibly do is crash into a school bus.

 

Wow. This why I give school buses a wide berth. And if they’re loading/unloading passengers I’ll activate my 4 way flashers to warn people behind me.
Those kids better survive this, if not, Florida may bring back the electric chair just for that driver!

 

If it wasn't a bus stop, it could be a garbage man, police car, ambulance, or anything else. Slowing down around blind corners and hills sounds like good personal responsibility. We shouldn't make it inconvenient for children and parents in order to make it more convenient for drivers who feel like they are the only ones on the road who matter.

 

Convenience shouldn't take priority over safety. You can't trust drivers to be paying attention or even being smart enough to drive. Picking up and discharging unreplacable cargo like children's lives should be done at the safest places possible, not where it's "easy".

 

Then the children are walking along the highway to get to a more centrally located bus stop, which is worse.
The other reason they are picked up as close to their home as possible is the fear of the child being grabbed by some creep.

It is up to the professional driver to be aware that every school day during the hours that busses typically operate they should be vigilant.

 

Being dropped off as close to home is the safest place possible, considering they'd be walking less on a road with bad drivers, or even predators. The irony of not being able to trust people to drive with care, is that basing decisions on that aspect reinforces that carelessness. I'm pretty sure they didn't start the policy of dropping kids closer to their homes because they were thrilled about spending more fuel with the increased stops. Something was a driving force behind it- maybe predators, bullies, traffic, who knows.

 

It's up to the parents to protect their kids.

 

Ask the kids that were sitting on that bus that got hit how safe they were. So all those kids were harmed because one lazy parent insisted the bus put everyone else in danger for the sake of their child by stopping at their front door.

All those kids were harmed because a bad driver on a wide open 4 lane highway was to busy doing something besides paying attention! The video and the pictures tell the story. This particular incident is all on that truck driver. He was absolutely not paying attention.
