I see @kwswan answered. It has been reopened for awhile. However, just recently there have been a few days where they reduced down to one lane on the west bound side for further inspection.

We live close enough that I can hear throaty truck exhaust and hear traffic as it rolls across the expansion joints on the I-40 bridge.

    Gotcha.
Even though I seldom did it, I always enjoyed hauling in or out of a sale barn. Talking with the hands waiting to load was a great educational opportunity. I mostly loaded out of the order buyers place or out of the pasture. Loading Brahma mix out of the swamp land was wild.

Hilliard Brothers used jeeps with push bars all the way around the vehicle to help move the cattle up to the pens. Seen an old bull hook an empty jeep under the bar and flip it over.

I wonder if hauling hanging meat is still a thing? Probably in boxes or crates now I bet.
