In the mid 70's to the mid 80's..... $300-$500 used cars were a dime a dozen. Went through plenty of them.

Update: things are going well. Learning stick pretty well. Learned the P&D side. Now about to learn the linehaul side with doubles. Stay tuned.

Get that manual restriction off is what I would do. I’m a OO and that restriction really limited me on finding a truck and before that when I need to work for someone else I lost tons of jobs with the E restriction. Just know at both jobs your holiday season will be nonexistent with your family.

Well I'm already committed to XPO. Lol.

I'm with you on learning manual. I actually prefer it somewhat now. Either way, I'm making money and getting experience.

    How's the o/o lifestyle?

It’s great if you like to hustle. I’m just starting out. I enjoy the freedom but it is more work than working for another company. FedEx is a great job but I have had some folks tell me they got hired on as driver trainers and got stuck in the warehouse but they started at the end of summer closer to the holiday rush. Just make sure you make it clear you want to drive. These companies will try to take advantage of you. It happened to me at Coca Cola. I had my permit for months before I could test for my license and then they tested me in the automatic when I requested to take the test in the manual. They told me they’re not testing in the manuals anymore. Worst place I ever worked.
