That is correct, it also has active Eye Tracking, the system basically never stops going off and emailing the safety department; even with the best drivers we have.
They want robots, literal robots.like clay… +++, kuzima93, Geekonthestreet and 4 others Thank this. -

One company I had spoken with had driving facing cameras but now had gone the extra mile to install the ones that actually look at your eyes to detect drowsy driving. Needless to say, I told them to have a nice day. Heck, I can guarantee that 99.99% of drivers drive while tired. It’s darn near a requirement.like clay… +++, alds, Gearjammin' Penguin and 3 others Thank this.

I had thought mine was going to be installed while I was on my last home time, but much to my surprise it wasnt. However, I am home with a lower back injury and my boss texted me on Saturday looking for the keys to my truck. Im either getting the camera or fired......

Driver facing cameras are a no go for me. First thing I ask a recruiter. I'm glad alot of companies are walking back on having em.
nredfor88, Gsm and BigHossVolvo Thank this. -

Swift is the most notable one I remember that stopped that.

It sounds like your only experience is from behind the wheel. Not an insult but if you are that closed minded, I'm wondering why I'm wasting my time trying to get you to see that there is an entire company, legislative body, book of laws and courts in this industry. It doesn't sound like you are willing to accept any of this. To answer 1 of your questions, the cell phone write up was on an inspection report. You can not take those into court. They must be disputed within the DATAQ portal and without the camera, it would have been the cops word.
Open your mind. This industry is much larger than the steering wheel and tires.
"why then are more and more companies disabling the inside feature, not the least of whom would be Swift?" I don't know and neither do you. You will have to ask Swift. If I were to guess, it would be that it is making it difficult to get drivers. -
Lol. And that is your prerogative, for sure.
