Compounded with historically high fuel prices..& inflation at 8% on the heels of a pandemic..

Fuel has hovered around $5.00 a gallon before. Initially when fuel spiked on a daily basis, it was tough. It’s now leveled out, my fuel surcharge is generous and above the National average, I get a great fuel discount at the pump, and last but not least I have a fuel efficient truck (just averaged 8.4 mpg from the Florida panhandle to Charleston, SC.) so I’m actually making more money where fuel currently sits.
The point I was making is this industry is cyclical, you’re correct this is the perfect storm, it will thin the Hurd, the strong will survive and prosper on the other side.Last edited: Apr 13, 2022

That's the goal. Just waiting for one of two things to happen. Either truck prices drop back to near normal, or my current engine blows up. Once one of those things happen, I'll be ready to buy.
Here's my preferences in order:
Engine - 12.7, Red Top, CAT
Tranny - 13, 18, 10
Truck - WS 49xx, W9L, Pete
Pre DEF/DPF. Don't care about EGR, don't care about ELOGS. So roughly 2006 or older.Dadetrucking305, Rideandrepair, LameMule and 1 other person Thank this. -
