With fuel being high, my guess is they’re trying to take advantage of Truck Capacity, keeping more profits. I don’t believe Shippers are paying less. Not in a one month timeframe. We’d all be better off with less TQLs and more Small Brokerages.
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

I’m only 5 months into this and haven’t set up with or used TQL. Not going to either.
Siinman and shooter19802003 Thank this. -
They have deep pockets when something truly has to be moved. That's the only time I run for them and I get a great rate plus accessorials every single time.Dadetrucking305, Siinman, Beaver9 and 5 others Thank this.

Brokers are taking profits right now unless it’s a spot quote to the customer. There are plenty of customer loads were losing because of cut rate brokers. However some freight were just enjoying higher margins on until we have to lower rates in the longer term. Although for me I still keep my carriers rates higher then they can get everywhere else in order to keep my regulars on them.
Truckers cutting each other’s throats is the only reason brokers can be like that. But, if this lull continues all rates will come down, but like I said right now it’s a blip and anything other then 1 at a time spot quotes haven’t lowered yet.
As for trucking we’re feeling it just like everyone else. Brokers are pushing our rates down for the most part and especially one off loads with no previous relationship. Really though it’s no hard feelings, when brokers were locked into rates, us truckers were hammering them and didn’t care if they lost money or not. It’s just the way things work. My brokerage got hammered for a very long time except one off spot quotes where we could keep up with the rise. So, I don’t feel guilty making some of that money back
Everybody just has to do what they can no matter what side of the fence your on.D.Tibbitt, Dadetrucking305, JimmyTwoTimes and 8 others Thank this. -

I don’t blame you. I had heard some horror stories and caught one lying his arse off. Cost me an entire day of my life I won’t get back lolol. Haven’t hauled a load for them since. But, I have hauled for them a couple times and may again if in a pinch and nothing else is available. I just won’t ever speak with that one clown again. As has been said once the clock is ticking they will open up the pocketbooks. But beware they will also pull some BS depending on the commodity and make some “I’ll get you a load out of there” promises. So you have to take all that with a grain of salt.
They are huge so they tend to have one guy sell the load, another take over and send the paperwork and then yet another to call you to ask where you are as well as not pay any attention to the fact they are tracking you. So far at least they all speak English when they call unlike some lolol. I don’t care if I am tracked under a load for them but as with all brokers I turn all that off as soon as I unload.
Probably like any other large broker they have some shady idiots and some people who haven’t been tainted… yet…
I love the smaller brokers though and will always migrate towards them if they have something. Being small doesn’t always shield you from knuckleheads. I’ve hauled probably 15-20 loads for one and they hired a new guy recently. Dude check called every couple hours Tuesday and I finally had to tell him to stop. Talk to so and so and so and so and you can relax. If I can’t make something happen I promised by signing my name you will be the first to know. Everyone else at this as all place literally just wants to know if I’ve picked up and POD when delivered. I hauled a short load for him yesterday and he left me completely alone.

What a broker fools him into paying and what the broker is actually willing to pay the truck are two different things.shooter19802003 and Rideandrepair Thank this.
