Hi all. I have a 96 freightliner with a 3406e. I added jakes and noticed no oil coming out the rocker shafts. I have the flat side of the rocker assembly up. If I start it I show 50 psi. I have the 12 point bolts so I should have oil flow. Suggestions?

Hmmm, I would pull the jakes off and see if you have oil coming thru the oil outlets that the pass-thru tubes that are in the jakes go into. IF so, then the issue is in the pass-thru tubes. If not then it would be something in the mounts. I haven't messed with an E, but don't think there is much difference in a C and E cept for the fuel delivery from the pump. Let me know, I know a man that has bled yellow for 35-40 years. I'll give him a call.

Thanks, I have oil flooding the bottom of one of the shafts, nothing on the other 2. all i did was replace 3 injectors last night. Jakes were added last month but never could get em to work. From what i have been reading appears oil pressure affects the jakes also. It didnt appear low on oil pressure. Always 55-60 cold 35-45 warm. still shows 50 now, just not a lot oil up top. set the overhead and jakes. even if i was off a lot, shouldnt affect oil pressure? Everything is torqued to Momma Cat specs.

If you get the shaft upside down, it will cause all the oil to come out the bottom. I've also seen the washer for the holddown bolts get under the shaft causing it to loose the oil there before getting to the top.

You have two orings on your spacer plate (head dowel pins) when it time to replace your head they will start leaking really bad and burn your rollers up.Also the head oil gally could be plugged causing high oil pressure which in time will blow the seals

This is an old post but I’ll bite. An E model only uses 1 oil dowel for the head. So yes 2 o rings. 1 above and 1 below the spacer plate. The B and C use 2 hollow dowels with 4 o rings 2 above and 2 below the spacer plate. I only go in depth here as you said pins in your post. However you did get the o rings correct. I just thought since no one knows jack about a CAT but you I should ask and make sure I got it right.
