    LOL.
Remember I said that this engine never had good oil pressure since I bought the truck and I didn't notice any improvement after installing a new oil pump and all new parts?

When I removed the rocker arms, I recall missing a halfmoon type of washer on the end (there are two 18mm, one for each) plus the 12mm bolts that also have these "washers"

    Guess what?
When I put the rocker arms back on, I use a washer for each nut at the end of the rocker arms, but I'm still missing one...Do I need to finish the story? Lmao.

Then I use a regular flat washer to secure the second bolt of the first rocker arm that lines up with the crankcase filter...
So when I removed the valve cover and cranked it up you can imagine the huge stream of oil shooting to the right side...No wonder I was losing so much oil LOL.

Thank guys for all the good comments.
    God bless you all.

That's a good lesson for future readers to layout parts in order and document the steps. I've used cardboard and a sharpie on things I was unfamiliar with.

Good. Glad you didn’t have to tear it apart. Engine looks great. I have the same 99 BK. Congrats on rebuilding it yourself. I bet you’re happy now!!!

That's awesome and an easy fix. I learned a lot about older Detroit engines in all these posts. When they used to be Detroit engines.
