Cops can smoke weed off duty

I look forward to the day I can smoke a doob and make a big pot of chili on my days off

Most Police dept's allow a 0.2 / 0.3.. Blood Alcohol in their Officers while On Duty.

 

Gotta love how much power the officer unions have.

 

I agree this is a great step in the right direction. These are the types of things our society should be liberal about. I think society is conservative about the wrong things and liberal about the wrong things.

 

That sounds like a description of our Politics section.

 

Not true for me anyway...at the dept I retired from or others around..any drop no matter how small that shows up on the intoxilyzer and you are fired..seen it happen to a few..but I don't doubt what u say.. wouldn't surprise me in some of these crazy cities.

Personally, as a libertarian leaning person, I could care less if pot smoking was legal so that stoners can get some joints. What I'm against is the loosening of standards for driving 80k pound vehicles. There are enough guys driving now that shouldn't be.

And I'd rather deal with a few puritans than truckers driving high any time, or rather than stoned cops any time.

Why does it matter if a driver smokes on Saturday and goes back to work on Monday? How is that affecting their driving ability in any way?
Also, how is it different than drinking?
