My last six loads to the truck per mile $5.58 on 167 miles, $3.16 pm on 498 miles, $2.47 pm on 1045 miles, $2.29 pm on 906 miles, $3.67 pm on 646 miles, and $3.37 pm on 737 miles.
When I set my parameters in my search I usually put in a minimum of 3.25 and $1000.00 minimum revenue.

Twice in the last 6 months I’ve been pulled in for a Level 1 while hauling a hazmat load. Six months ago in Ohio on the turnpike, and yesterday in Texas. Both times passed with no issues and received CVSA stickers both times.

And just for reference, Last year I did 2.21 to the truck on 67,xxx miles. I was very happy with my numbers. @runningman0661 is killing it.
But I’m real particular what I run. There’s only about 16 states on my map, I rarely if ever run placards, and I can probably count on 1 hand the number of times I ran freight other than a direct shipper last year. I don’t run hard, and I absolutely don’t like headaches.
Find your pace and run your race. But know your numbers. And also know these numbers aren’t gonna last forever. And if it takes you $2 a mile to operate your truck…you’re already in trouble.Another Canadian driver, Lonesome and runningman0661 Thank this. -

Y'all wanna hear a joke?
I was talking on clubhouse and this guy came in talking big stuff about trucking. Now, I'm no Einstein, but let's break down what was said.
He grossed 193K as a contractor hauling pharmaceuticals.
He's paying 2600 a month for the truck and 1200 a month for the insurance. Don't forget this is a truck with 500k+ miles. This same truck would be 45K in early 2020.
THE COMPANY PAID FOR THE FUEL. (As a contractor)
After expenses... He POCKETED 139K according to him. This guy said 200K "isn't no money" in the DMV.Another Canadian driver, BigR, Lonesome and 4 others Thank this. -

What's up with them guys? I don't really get to talk to em lolAnother Canadian driver Thanks this. -
So a few weeks ago I did this short load, from Charleston, SC to Fort Mill, SC. It was a hazmat, cross docked load off of a container. The rate con said 44550lbs, the BOL 43246, I can scale 45325 with full fuel tanks.
As soon as I pulled away from the dock I “felt” heavy, so I went down the road scaled the load, and sure enough I was 320lbs over gross. I went back to the shipper and told them they needed to remove a skid. The dock foreman said “we can’t do that” which I replied “ you got two choices, remove the skid or unload the trailer” Well needless to say they removed a skid, and I delivered the load with no other issues.
Or so I thought, today a Landstar CS agent calls me asking about the load and if I remember it? To which I said I did. She than says the agent wants you to go back and get the skid they took off and deliver it. Wait WTF? I said that skid is not my responsibility, the shipper misrepresented the weight of the load, so it’s the shippers problem, not mine ir Landstars.
She had me email her my weight ticket and my rate con. Tomorrow I have to send her an empty weight to prove the shipper was at fault.
I’ll go back and get that one skid if you pay me a truckload rate. The shipper should put it on an LTL carrier and be done with it.Another Canadian driver, 48Packard, Speed_Drums and 9 others Thank this.
