Legislation on overtime pay?

The last thing we need is the federal Government to get involved. Like Reagan once said “The scariest words you can ever here, is I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

 

They are working for us . Let them know if you don't want them to do anything. They have nothing that we do not give them. They need to learn their place and do what we tell them. With out our money they don't have a job , they don't have anything. All any of them want is more money.

I have been getting paid overtime since I started my trucking career back in 2002. It’s the only thing that keeps me sane while sitting in East coast traffic.
I am sure there are drivers making more money than me getting paid by the mile, but considering how congested the roads have been the last couple of months, I would quit trucking before switching over to pay by the mile system.

 

As a local P&D guy do you get overtime? I know you get paid for every hour you work. I would be happy with that. But drivers give away too much of their time. I think that needs to end and is probably more important than OT.

 

I worked for a local outfit once that was sued and forced to start paying ot. They just did an across the board pay restructure that put everyone on a low hourly pay so with ot we made the same money.

 

That should support another office full of suits and skirts. They’ll put them right next to the office full of suits and skirts that spend all day making sure nobody makes the thresholds to turn .35cpm into their advertised .60cpm.
