    I'll remember that.

But, at 12 foot wide is it really wise and safe to be passing people and just hoping that they will flash you because you can not judge the distance for yourself?

And pulling over too close with anyone means they can not see any hazards, so it is equal ground with those trucks that like to cut right in front of me doing 66 to my 65.

When being passed by your type of truck I try to pull to the right as much as possible to give you the room.
And if you are just barely faster than I am, as with most, I will slow down by 5 to let you gain distance more quickly.
I have no need to get in a cluster ## with other drivers, nor the impatience to compete for a few seconds of time.

When passing while you are wide you have to pretty well just know about how far back your trailer is supposed to be. Then I like to make sure I’m well past that distance. I’ll turn on the blinker and slowly start coming over. Watching as much of that side as I can. It’s definitely more dangerous than just going straight down the road. But you can’t be scared to do it either. A little flash does give you a little extra comfort though.

And yes coming over too close is dangerous for any truck, but when I have a couple feet hanging over the fog line and someone is parked on the shoulder I have to have time to squeeze over. Generally if someone does come over too soon I drop back and let them go on.

I took a pic the other day of a oversize taking up the two left lanes while spending EIGHT MILES , trying to pass the two big trucks in the two right lanes .

on e he got past the trucks in the pic the oversize moved over one lane but the pilot car kept blocking the left lane .

I was finally able to squeeze past , dropped back and got a good run and passed the pilot car on the left shoulder .

was very frustrating to sit behind these idiots because one driver didn’t want to stay behind another truck .

They are idiots, but you’re not for passing on the shoulder? Plus they were speeding and yet you still passed them. And they should have stayed behind the slow trucks while you shouldn’t.

Some drivers prefer you dont flash. Im one. I can see perfectly clear because my mirrors are adjusted correctly. That said, sorry if I moved over too soon an caused your crash sensor to slam on the brake. Too many impatient drivers behind me.
You want me to thank you for blinding me? In fact I move over then hit the jakes for a few seconds. Too bad the johnson bar on todays trucks have brake switches. The old trucks dont turn on brake light when bar is used

That's what I do when I need to roll (minus the detector) let them get at least a qtr mile ahead and watch for brake lights Lol

They were doing 53 in a 65 with an overweight load blocking both left lanes trying for eight miles to pass other trucks

if trucks are going to purposely block all four lanes for eight miles ,while struggling to do 10 under the speed limit , I’m going around . Dudes lucky I didn’t feel
Like spending the calories to call the weigh station that was half an hour ahead , And email them the video.

If someone calls the weigh station and complains , with truck description ,
Company name color tag number etc ,
They are gonna get a flashlight shined up their ### at the weigh station when they pull in.

and the weigh station will turn off the bypass transponders , forcing every truck in the station , until that rig arrives .
At least they did when my sister worked at one .
