Are all of the fuel valves on and between the tanks turned in the on position? Probably a silly question but maybe they are closed?

Update: My life is amazing. Was told by my salesman after 3k miles I can shut off the 5 minute idle shut off, all because of some green house gas emissions warranty. I come back after putting down 5600 miles. It was suppose to be a simple shut off but when my tech logged into the truck.. the option was locked and we had to call Paccar and Cummins to get an answer. It asked for a password that neither myself or the salesman had. Okay.. well whichever software lead up in corporate is going to give him an answer hopefully later today. I call another dealer and he told me something like that can’t be unlocked until 300-500k miles, and if I do I may be fined. Okay……… Call someone else and they say I possibly got a discount for having the idle shut off for green house gas and I may have to pay it back if I want it shut off. I’m like s*** I don’t see a discount anywhere.. and if I did and don’t know it, then I got ripped off for the truck.
My marker intermittent switch wasn’t plugged in or the software only has it plugged to my trailer lights. Now here’s the fun part, my marker lights for the trailer get powered by the same light switch as the trucks marker lights. But, my reefer units lights get powered by the trailer marker light switch. Neither the truck nor trailer clearance lights are affected by the marker light interrupt switch on the turn signal. The tech even printed the wiring diagram specific to my truck and couldn’t see why the interrupt switch wasn’t wired to the trucks clearance light switch.
Front desk service lead says I just need to watch my tanks and plan my trip and that may be normal for the size difference in tanks. I’m like I’ve never heard or understand how a truck could allow one tank to drain completely and then have 1/8 to a quarter tank left in the other tank. It’s a 15 gallon difference between the tanks, not 25-50.Blue jeans, RedForeman, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
since you have a brand new truck, check all your engine and aftertreatment sensors and make sure they are plugged in all the way.. it could be something as simple as that. -
About the idle timer….when I ordered mine last April we maxed it out (over 1000 minutes) because my salesman didn’t think it could be changed on the EPA21 trucks. Sounds like your salesman is just ordering trucks without changing it.
I do know the dealers are locked out of more stuff than they used to be. I had a couple things I wanted changed with my transmission and engine brake, my dealer had to send the parameters to someone higher up. Next time I go back they will hook up to my truck and an engineer will make the changes I want remotely.Blue jeans, D.Tibbitt, OhNoTerry and 2 others Thank this. -
Find someone with Cummins software ability (think non dealership)and just shut off the idle timer …… or rig up a dummy pto switch to override the shutdown?
RedForeman, D.Tibbitt and OhNoTerry Thank this. -
Their are a few things you have to delete when you order the truck or you/the dealer may be locked from changing some settings.
