If that’s the case how come Texas the state I live in which produces the highest amount of oil in the country and also has a bunch of refineries does not have the cheapest fuel? Also let’s add Oklahoma in there as well.

 

No doubt. I see it regularly. I'm set up with direct customers in my area and many of them use brokers too because they're cheap. Even though the Shipper doesn't pay a good rate, the brokers still try to get the loads moved with several hundred dollars taken off the top for themselves. It's crazy they even try but I guess it's like hitting the lottery for them if they find a sucker to move it.

 

Good point. It's extremely difficult to discuss one without the other. The relevance between corporations and government are obligatory since it's a symbiotic relationship between the two.

 

Rates have fallen and as well as freight volume to a near crawl in my area. It's usually picking up by now, not slowing down.
