And those very slightly used trucks coming in look exactly like what I expected.
Run hard and put away wet. Not even washed once since they were built.
I'd be extremely wary about the "deal" on a lightly used truck for awhile. One that never even had the oil changed in it's life.Dale thompson, mtoo, Long FLD and 5 others Thank this. -

Van loads to van capacity is way down. Along with that, van rates are generally down in all regions. Reefer haulers are pulling less van loads due to the drop in rates. Therefore Reefer haulers hitting mostly reefer loads when they can. This is causing reefer rates to drop as well.

Me.. Iam holding out for the guy that bought the overpriced pre emission hood then bought a trailer and had it painted to match and then spent 1500 at the chrome shop everytime he got a settlement check.. then dropped 40k at the CAT house on a OH.. then went to the tire shop and bought 10 new Bridgestones because somebody told him it would improve the ride.. and now he has to buy a new transmission.. and realizes 2.50 pee mile isn't covering his operating costs and he doesn't ever know what a saving account is
That's the ones Iam waiting onLast edited by a moderator: Apr 27, 2022

Talked to a friend at Schneider.......
LP dude got a used tractor with new caps in Charlotte, rode about 50 miles and blew one. So, the new trucking magnate decided now would be a good time to replace all 8 with virgin.
Jus sayin

Correct. You can actually make more money in a bad market than you can a good one, if you play your cards right.
In order to do this you have to set yourself up for it in good times, and you may not reap the rewards until the market recovers, but when it does you can cash in. Takes a lot of discipline, but you can do it if you set yourself up for it.dwells40, ProfessionalNoticer, Midwest Trucker and 4 others Thank this. -
it’s going to be a very quick trip to the bottom for a lot.
i don’t like new trucks but I would definitely like to upgrade my flat bed, no huge rush on that though for as little as I use my current one,Last Call and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
