Between oil changes about 2 gallons in total. I had a rear main seal leak that I just got replaced so I hope to see some changes now. Is rods and mains the same thing as “running the rail”?

Black stone labs okay, when I pm at ta they ask if I want to sample it. This next time, I’ll say yes.
-
You should pass on letting the truckstop do that and get your own samples. Blackstone labs is more detailed.GreenTop60 Thanks this.

If TA asks "do you want to sample" and you say "yes" that means they are going to get a sample when they dump the oil and put it in their inhouse analysis machine. You don't want that..
If you want to do Blackstone you'll have to pull your own samples. Not a big deal you don't even have to dump the oil. They have sample kits.GreenTop60 Thanks this. -
2 gallons is not terrible. And no, rods and mains are the bearings. Running the rail is fuel pressure and injector hightsGreenTop60 Thanks this.

Keep your box of bottles in the truck. Tell them you want a sample they should get it for you when they drop the oil no charge. Remind the tech because they might forget. The just drop the bottle in the mailbox. Postage paid on BL bottles

That’s exactly what they told me. You mean like my old oil bottles?nikmirbre Thanks this.

THANK YOU I thought it was almost about that time. Rods & mains… I’ll tell my mechanic and ask him what to to. Does the head have to come off for something like that?
-
No, its kinda like little pill/medicine bottles that the company will send to you.GreenTop60 Thanks this.

They said they would mail it off and then send the results to my house. Well hell that was when I was in Binghamton NY so that might not be all TA’s.
