So my trailer skirt sustained a lot of wind damage the other day and came off it's mounting brackets towards the rear pretty significantly. So I had to call for roadside service, since it wasn't safe to keep driving with the skirt freely flapping in the rear. The guy said that because the brackets were completely gone the only thing he could do was saw off the damaged portion. So now the skirt on one side of my trailer is shorter then the other side. Will DOT care about this? Thank you!
Is it legal to have a different skirt length?

It’s possible, they can care about anything they want even write you tickets for laws that don’t exist. Typically though no but I wouldn’t drag it out too long. Really you could save money and just get those side flares that go on each side my the swing trailer door brackets. That is if it’s your trailer.

I think any skirt is legal, as long as it covers your assets..

Should have known, someone would beat me to this, it's no shame being beaten by the best,,
,you know, do trailer skirts really help? Seems to me, when empty, it's what causes many blow overs today. In the past, the wind went under the trailer, now it's a big billboard. I don't think the cops care, might look a bit silly, tell you what, put the "good" one on the drivers side, it's what most people see anyway,,
