Bought this from a farmer in Kansas for less than $3k. On my 3rd load with it, but was going to wait until the weekend to post an update.
And no payment is 1 reason I bought an older truck.
Other reasons include:
Pre-emissions
ELD exempt
Low clearance for bridges
Tighter turning radius for Chicago/NYC
Optimus Prime
Finally putting it on the road

You forgot the biggest reason, you have a brain, or more importantly, were raised right, good luck, pal, keep us posted, not so much for your success, if any, just to show, we have to get out of this "just buy new" mentality, and we don't need to do that.Coffey, Blue jeans, Speed_Drums and 5 others Thank this.

*sigh* hated this as a company driver, hate it as an owner operator.
Been sitting for 90 minutes waiting on paperwork for a load. Going to give them about 10 minutes, and then I will head home.
Not allowed to call a broker to find a load eitherCoffey, Speed_Drums, CAXPT and 1 other person Thank this. -

Add a set of roller rockers and a carb off a 292, tell everybody it is a 216.

Lol, yea I doubt many of the younger folks would know the difference between a 235 & 216 just by looks….. -
Because he has dedicated customers. The dispatcher claims she sent me the info, but I never got it. When I got back today, I gave her my email that comes straight to my phone.Blue jeans, cke, CAXPT and 2 others Thank this.

Okay, time for an update. I did 4 loads this week, out to Chicago and then back home.
#### near $2k for fuel, and I don't think I went 2k miles (will check mileage tomorrow). First econ check was 4.89mpg and the second was 3.5
After expenses, net is $2,900
Acceleration is a little slow, and I dearly miss cruise control, but once I got going, it pulled fine.
The brakes on this are soooooo much better than any newer truck I've driven before. On newer ones, there were times I had to pump them, but not with this one.
I am concerned about the fuel economy, but I did replace the H20/C12H23 separator, the one on there was a bit clogged.Coffey, Blue jeans, Speed_Drums and 5 others Thank this. -
Probably not going to get much better than that for fuel mileage. You're driving a brick.
