Does anybody know where this thing is located? I called Volvo dealer about the pathetic excuse for a headlight and they said to make sure ALL contacts are clean. So I figure I'll check those connections as well. TIA...bossboy2

usually chassis - hood connection is bad. sometimes on MCFC connector (cab to chassis), but never in dash. The only problem I see in dash - six LCM power supply fuses

I may have to change the LCM, if i can find one. They are on National Back Order and they seem to be slim pickings at junk yards, so far.
Everything works fine with the exception of when I apply my brakes. The driver side brake light does not illuminate. Turn signals, four ways and running lights work fine as well as the right side brake light. Will I have to remove the fuse panel to access and remove this? Are these LCM's repairable?
Let's bring this post back to life :)
    I have a 2013 D13.

    Thanks in advance

Go to Volvo media website and find file PV776-89261061. You can go to Service, input your truck's year and model, then click Electrical Systems and Instruments, then click on page 4. That will show you how to remove and replace the LCM.

If this is keeping you from working until a new part comes in, I still believe you can use a tail light converter to bypass the LCM for your tail lights.

You would want to get 2 new plugs that fit your tail lights to replace the four flat plug on the converter. You could also create a separate four flat to 2 tail light plug harness, so that you can leave the plug if you ever want to pull a trailer with a four flat connection. Split the white ground wire and brown marker light wire on the output side so that each can go to both plugs. The green will go to one plug, the yellow will go to the other. Leave the old plugs, just unplug them, tie them up, and protect them from the weather, so you can reinstall after you replace the LCM. Find a working source for all of the input wires. I would use the trailer's circuit from the fusebox under the hood.

You will still have LCM codes on the dash, but all of your lights should function as intended. I have used a converter like this to go from a 7 round to a 7 blade plug in order to pull a travel trailer with a semi. The brake lights would not work with the turn signals until I used the converter. I see no reason why it wouldn't work for you.

I thought you could download the file without ordering it. Try finding it online by searching.
