I have a buddy that wants to lease on with me for a month till he activates his MC.He has insurance and plates. Will his insurance work or does it have to be mine? Also besides contract and running my dot & Mc number what else am I missing? And what does someone charge for this? Just want to make sure I don’t miss anything if I tell him yes.

If he's under your authority then he has to also be on your insurance.
Dadetrucking305 and merv85 Thank this. -
Here, it's around 10% of your full rate to do this for him, all else excluded. That usually includes guarantees that you'll pay him even if your direct customers don't pay you...Dadetrucking305 Thanks this.

For one month, you are doing yourself no favors. MVR, clearinghouse, insurance, verify physical is done by approved doc, drug test, equipment inspection, employee handbook, lease agreement, training, elog if applicable, tax forms, onboarding….

Not worth it for one month likes been mentioned. Has to be your insurance.
And... in my opinion for the 10% that was mentioned, no amount of leased on time frame would make sense.Dadetrucking305, shanman, Ruthless and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah that’s definitely a lot to get lined up for a month.I’m just going to tell him to wait it out. Thanks,I definitely appreciate it.
Short Fuse EOD, ProfessionalNoticer and Midwest Trucker Thank this.
