My drivers end of that would be $450. Tarped or not doesn’t change much, it’s oversize to start with, and you still lose the truck for the whole day to do it. Charge large, profit never hurt anybody.CAXPT, GYPSY65 and God prefers Diesels Thank this.

Okay 860. thats like 110 an hour for the truck at 8 hours
110/hr is pretty standard from what ive ever seen, but guys are making that same 110 with legal freight.
i wouldnt want to run percentage for your bossCAXPT Thanks this. -
Yeah, that’s a monopoly money minimum of sorts. To be honest if the driver would rather go home, I’d be just as happy with that as $1500/day for a truck. 10’ wide plate going 2000mi with another $4-$5/mi worth of LTL piled on top of it is more my thing.

Tell your boss you want to be paid for tarping everytime you tarp. Otherwise you don’t tarp. It’s not too much to ask btw.
CAXPT Thanks this. -
Wait until they get back to you and let you know that "you're getting $45 for every tarp job from now on driver but the rate has dropped to $170 for the trip"
That's how Prime did it when I broke in there. They said tarp pay was like 100 bucks I don't remember the exact amount but they would just take $100 from the trip total and move it to the "tarp pay" line lol. -
If I’m understanding his post correctly I think he gets paid the $215 and that includes tarping but he is able to not tarp certain loads and still get the $215??
