Yes l worked for atlantic steel trucking division and we got the fuel sur. starting at 1.10 a gal. and it payed more than the amount we were paying extra, it was set for a 5.25 mi per gal. truck, it payed for extra costs of fuel, the owner of our office had a FLD. with a Detroit ECM motor that got 6.4 but driver lived in it all the time and it idle all the time so he was just about the same, but I figured I would do better with n-14 with the new electronics, cruise con. and used the stick l would jam under dash to run the small cam 350 to floor,
To hold the door open when catching up with the log books?

Fuel cards for most, for the discount, some gave you a com, ck. When you called in loaded and at end of the week you had several hundred cash that girl friend didn't know about when you got home on Friday?

A "fuel surcharge" was only beginning to be talked about, but I don't recall ever getting any adjustment for fuel. One has to remember, when I bought my truck in '88, fuel was like .75-.80/gal,( $2.07 in todays money) so at $1.50, (almost $4.00 today) it was a double increase, much like today. We were expected to take it in the shorts, that's when I got out.

So what would y'all determine to be the factor to get out of it today?
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
This is flat bed load securement in 2022. No straps just a human holding down the whole load by himself at freeway speeds. Saw that driving past me just now and thought maybe someone else would think it’s funny
