What to do about shipper non payment?

Do you have a rate confirmation from the broker for the first load to shipper X?

Do you have a rate confirmation for the reload at shipper X?

Why do you have to return the trailer?
Who owns the trailer?
Where did the container come from and where is it?

Trailer got reloaded - you must have a BOL for moving cargo on the interstate. What did the second BOL state. You can’t just take the trailer to your garage - it has to have a destination. If you held the trailer hostage for 34 hours - Ofcourse you’re not going to get paid - in addition you’ll run the risk of being blacklisted

 

First this is confusing, are you the owner or the driver?

Second who owns the trailer or container?

If you do then tell the broker you own it and provide proof to them.

If you don't unless you have in writing that you can use the trailer or container for X amount of days after the load is delivers, you don't have permission to use the trailer or container or to hold the trailer or container and in fact it can be considered stolen.

You can't charge them for storage, you can't pursue storage fee you already paid and you have to return the trailer or container immediately.
