1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Thanks tbones. I know what I need to make missing time with my kids and living in a truck 26 days a month worth it, and 2700 (or less) miles a week at .35 cpm isn't it.

jtrnr1951, not sure what your point is, can't tell if you're making a joke or really think .35 cpm is good. My first job out of CDL school was .38 cpm and $18.50 per hour load/unload, and I was home every night. So, yeah, .35 cpm doesn't sound very good for living in a tin can on wheels, wondering what my kids are doing while i'm not around.

A friend's wife is the daughter of the Safety Manager for SNI at the yard I would be dispatched out of. I'm planning on talking to him, but I will definately take what he says with a whole friggin' shaker of salt, as I assume he'll hit me with the company mantra and try and get me to drink the coolaid.

With a years experience, you'd likely be getting less than .35 a mile. I think you'd be what's termed a Level 1 driver. When I went to orientation Jan of 2009, there was a guy there from Toledo, he was phase 1, seemed like he was down around the area of .30 per mile. At that time , I was phase 2, level 2, that was .36 per mile. Still not that good, and wage raises were frozen all of 2009, and so far this year as well. Now, I drive 2 weeks, and off 1, so I'm not making a lot. Due to my wife's health, at that time it was the best choice for me.
But, try to find my hometown on a map. You gotta do what you gotta do, and SNI was it.
Since I've gotten more seat time now, some small companies within 100 miles of me are options in the next couple months.
I wouldn't condemn any driver for what he has to do, regardless of colour of truck or the name on the door.
I guess this latest rant/rave of mine comes down to this, SNI may not be for you, or it may be. So could any of the evil large companies.:biggrin_255:

Gee I guess your right that you don't become an O/O at the end of a lease unless you are doing a lease purchase. I thought you'd understand that.
