I did speed read the article. No mention of the owners attempting to hire locals before they imported foreigners paying them slave wages.

Did I miss something in the article dealing with this? If so, paste the line in a quote and point it out.

I see that the other guy was trying to say they didn't want the work.

We will wait and see what he comes up with.

The companies always hire the illegals for less and then push them harder than they do the regular workers.

Did they have a meth lab operating inside? It stretches the imagination! Or is this more of the right wing extremists BS to turn public opinion against the workers.

My question is, questions of legality aside, doesn't it make more sense to try and legalize the workforce already there instead of destroying small town America by bringing in the dregs of American society. Or importing Somalis from the African continent.

We have our priorities totally screwed on backwards.

If you spent half the time trying to improve your own rat hole of a country that you do badmouthing mine. You really might have something.

Not me, I wont let any type of contractor on my property who's first language is not English. I refuse to feed the illegals.

If the company had been legit from the start, there wouldn't be this problem.

Looking at your silly little "teabaggers" flag, I see I was sucked into this.

You asked for proof and when it was given to you, and the facts didn't support your opinion, you come up with trite crap like this.

Maybe you should educate yourself on our neighbor to the south before putting fingers to the keyboard and showing your ignorance.

End of conversation as far as I'm concerned.

Back when I had some money saved for a Harley, I was even considering setting up a working retirement for myself in Mexico...having learned a lot of spanish from my crews.
The recession and a few other things eliminated that idea, one being the living standard outside of cities. I don't want to live in a city.

Kansas said "Not me, I wont let any type of contractor on my property who's first language is not English. I refuse to feed the illegals" yet you obviously don't have a problem buying many other items of your daily life from non-americans, I bet. It seems to me that you're one of the most prejudice in these posts.
I use to be at least a little prejudiced, mostly because My Own family uses illegals, in OHIO, in their construction of homes and renovations of old homes into condo's. Its so hard "NOT TO". I charged my family $15-18/hr for my wages when at the same time other competent americans, like me, were charging $20-25/hr. Most of them were potheads, meth-heads, crack-heads and speed-freaks. But they did the exact same quality of work as I did. But the jobs that us white folks didn't want to do for "a mere $15-20/hr" like masonry, roofing, and some other high-risk jobs, were left to the latinos, and they were happy to do it for $10-12/hr. I'm not as good at hanging drywall, finishing it, painting, roofing as they are and I'm not gonna risk my life(or sanity and my back and neck) daily, to do it for $10-12. And the latino's don't steal from us. My family hasn't met anyone that hasn't tried stealing from them, except for latinos. They don't, for the most part, drink before work, smoke blunts, shoot up or geek on meth or crack...as almost all the whites and blacks do and complain about not making enough money or the work is too hard. We don't babysit latinos. I bet you all have the same problems stated above everywhere in the USA. We want to bicker about them dang latinos taking our jobs, but a lot of the jobs they're doing "WE CAN DO BUT REFUSE TO" unless we're making more money. I therefore can't work for my family. I have to drive trucks for the sake of my children and really to help my parents make better investment returns. I could work for the family fulltime but its time to move on. They make more without me. Its sad but true. And I'm a really good carpenter. I singlehandedly added 1300 sq. ft. to my 800sq.ft. house. But I should have let latinos do it and went and made a real living for my children instead. now I'm hurt because of it and "NEED" the relatively less labourous intensity that trucking allows.
We're all immigrants, except the indians. And the latinos have a place in our society, like it or not. DO Asians, Africans, or Middle-easterners have a more legitimate place in our society than Latinos do? I think NOT...
