Should I dolly down my landing gear when parked for the weekend?

    I'm wondering if any of ya'll dolly down your landing gear on your trailer when parking your truck for an extended period of time like over the weekend. I'm thinking obviously it would release pressure on the truck airbags and such but is it really necessary?

    For just a few days? I don't. If you're worried about your air bags you might want to just replace them for peace of mind.

    No point. Air bags are pressurized all day long anyways. If anything it could cause problems if you forget to raise them back up again before you head out.

    Mine are farely new so that's not the issue. I just want to be sure I'm doing what I can to extend their lives.

    Right, as long as I release the trailer break my pressure stays good for a while on the truck now that I think about it.

    I should clarify I'm talking about raising the landing gear back up. Might slip your mind one day since its not a normal part of a normal pre-trip routine when you're already coupled to a trailer.

    Right, good point. Done that a couple of times over the last 15 years. Tends to bend them a bit.

    Good question..
    I always slide my trailer tandem to the rear when loading or unloading. Less shock and abuse of the airbags.
