I have been have been hauling cars for last few months, due to some unfortunate circumstances, I had to move on from that job. I found a job on here that was looking for drivers in my area. He is a contractor for prime, inc.
I picked up my truck today. Nothing fancy, but definately workable. 2005 columbia, picked it up from the dealers lot this morning. Got my stuff loaded inside, and called dispatch to say im ready to haul something anywhere. However, I am waiting at the j, waiting on a load toward springfield, mo. I have to get the qualcomm etc put in the truck there. Going to be a long week, but excited to get to haul the rectangle box around again. Anyone know how the freight is with prime?
Thanks to everyone that has helped on here to find the job, and will try to stay somewhat updated on the progress.

well got the call from dispatch, told me where to pick up my trailer and a load appointment. noon tomorrow at quaker oats, going to springfield, mo. I have to go by the terminal have my qualcomm installed, and get the company to give the truck a once over. Not many miles for the first trip, but it serves the purpose of getting me to springfield. Thanks again for the support.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
Good Luck txschwab, be safe.

wow this is alright. I got to the shipper two hours early, the put right in the dock, and started to load. Was loaded, weighed, fueled, me and the truck before appointment time. Headed for springfield. Supposed to deliver at 0700 this morning, but I pulled on the yard, fueled and they said drop your trailer in the drop yard, get the qualcomm installed in the morning, and here is your next load. Mesa, AZ for anytime Friday. I hope it stays like this. Sure I will find a negative before long.
While on the yard in Springfield, I visited the drivers area. They have a huge store that you can charge your stuff at if you need any. They have a movie theatre, basketball courts, cafe, sitting rooms, tv rooms, spa. Guess this may be the norm for big companies, but it was a shock to me. -
How's everything going for you so far? I just talked to Ray & seems like a good guy. You getting miles? Are you getting PAID? So he has to put the Qualcomm's in his trucks?

That is defintely not the norm for any company out there. Most of the big companies have one decent sized tv in a drivers loungs with say maybe 10-20 cheap chairs and a few tables. They have some showers, and a parking lot thats about it. Be very happy and feel lucky that they have a spa, b-ball courts an all that.
