Detroit 12.7 intake noise….

No it wasn't me i had few threads asking about injector types and rocker arm bushings replacement

 

i tried again to hear something, but the wind noise over runs all other noises.

will this noise happen at say a dead stop like parked, engine idling high..?? then you take your foot off the fuel??

 

That 12.7 sounds like it has a very healthy file in the ECM, not sure what turbo you're running but the way it barks when you let off almost reminds me of one that's just a little shy on size of turbine housing.

What turbo you running?

 

It's hard to tell from where I'm at but it just seems like it's kinda surging at high boost. I hope you figure it out because if you're anything like me it's gonna aggravate the hell outta you

 

I'm curious as to a possible timing issue. Do you have access to a test ECM? Is it doing tbis under throttle, or while letting off?

 

Don’t hear it either. I’m sure you can. Sounds healthy to me. Only thing that comes to mind, is the intake hose from manifold to air compressor. If it’s on the backside, of the compressor, it might have a pinhole in it from chafing.
