Steering component clicking sound.

Do you own this truck? Can you post a pick of the tire, At 55K you definitely have an issue going on. You may need to jack up the truck when greasing and move the wheel from one side to the other and get all around that kingpin, just keep pumping till nice clean grease comes out the bottom.

 

Did you figure out the issue? I have a 2019 579 with 180,000 miles. No tire issues but seem to have a popping noise coming out of power steering gear box.

 

Did you ever find what the clicking sound from the pump was?

 

No idea about the clicking sound.
The tire start cupping.
I would check the tires balance. On both side actually.
Today. In a independent competent tire shop, not a truck stop.
The best check is with the wheel installed on the truck.
Front axle lifted and the the wheel spun fast with a machine.
Call ahead some tire shops in the area and find out who can do it like this.

 

I just experienced this. It's most likely the steering gear box going bad. Those are warning noises. You won't be able to steer the truck. I found out on I-90 in Montana. May as well change that and the power steering pump at the same time. They go out pretty much one after the other.

 

Spring hanger bushings ?
Don't know if things have changed but steering box was hard to find. Nobody had them.
