Your tachograph sounds OK. Sorry I was so defensive about it without knowing what i was talking about! That's exactly what I would like to see. But.....it still has the problem that our hours of service regulations dont take into account a realistic world view....that we get loaded/unloaded by jerks who keep us there all day, and then demand we leave (or sometimes they just plain dont have room for more than one truck)...and that we cant park just anywhere (get run off from big empty lots), and that we as humans need facilities where we park (A portapotty would be good enough for me!)

Nah, a common mode of failure is for one of the wires to go bad which makes it permanently lose signal until it's fixed. When i worked for CRST i had it happen once, company didnt even notice it. I'd call them and theyd be like "Wellll we sent you a message."

Bad thing about werner is that all paper logs have to be faxed in. The peopel taht deal with our trip packs dont know what they are. PITA.

    Buckaneer Thanks this.

I have seen tachographs in American trucks. I used to whiz by the Winn Dixie grocery store trucks. They were governed to 53-55 mph. No A/C in the Florida heat. Circa 1982. It looked like a parking meter on the dash.

They could afford that POS yet no A/C for the driver's comfort. I bet they didn't have air ride seats either.

I typed that in a hurry. What I menat to say was, if another driver for your company saw tin foil on your antennae they would be calling it in to your company.

Were cool Phroziac. Totally agree with you.

What the planners and managers think happens and what we experience are usually two totally different things. They get a trip to the coffee machine, regular cigarette breaks (remembered not to call it a ### for fear of confusing you all) and to go home on the buzzer every night. While we do the work.

lol regular f-ag breaks. lol lol lol lol lol lol.

Rug, what you do is make a small white fiberglass dome, line it with foil, put it on where you arent around drivers. It'll look just like the antenna. :)

Ive known that since i was a kid thanks to the internet. I especially love why the other term came about: F-a-ggots were small bundles of wood used for starting fires. Such as burning people at the stake fires.

We had to stop burning people due to the first appearance of political correctness in the early 18th century.
