I can't prove it but another Ia based flatbed carrier I was pulling for claimed TMC was in chapter 11 and cutting rates at many major shippers to show gross income to the bankruptcy court.

None of this garbage is true. You will see TMC in business for a very long time.

You got facts to back?Eskimo6804 and dollylama Thank this. -
JarodTMC, thanks for your original post. At least it was positive, even if you are just doing your job.
Of course, you might want to pass on to your bosses all the inside info and advice you got. Like how TMC and Mav are going to be out of business this year, how there isn't any flatbed freight (I bet those are empty cardboard boxes under the tarps on all the skateboards I see on I85)
It's good to see someone pro active.
Jim Fdollylama and Eskimo6804 Thank this. -

I know TMC has been facing a lot of rumors that are nearly impossible to snuff out. All employees have been assured from the owner that none of this is true and that rumors were started by our competitors in an attempt to obtain our existing customers. I can tell you we are wanting to hire a lot of drivers right now because freight is looking positive going into 2010. January has proven to be a very good month for once.

TMC shows the same Safestat info as many other carriers . The number of drivers dropped about 10% the end of 2008 and despite hiring a lot of drivers the number of drivers hasn't increased . So the hiring of drivers is to replace drivers leaving , not due to more trucks being added .
That's not rumor . The numbers are there are Safestat .allycatt2 Thanks this. -
Like I said I can't prove it but chapter 11 does't mean a company is closing. The flatbed game has been rough since the fall of 2008. TMC here forever? anybody remember LeeWay PIE Time DC CF Associated Transcon PST Direct Builders Transport Garrett Gateway Little Audry's McLean Hennis Thurston International Transport Jevic Watson Bros oh and The Mickow Corp [TMC]. TMC is a relative newcomer I remember when they didn't exist. We all know truck drivers are good bull****ers you have to take anything you hear anywhere from anyone with a grain of salt. I'm just saying.

TMC's fleet did reduce it's size and maintained it about 1850 trucks toward the end of 08. Now that this spring on the horizon freight is looking better according to customer demands and we are looking to put more trucks on the road in the next few months. In regards to being a newcomer? TMC has been in business since 1972.
