Is anyone else's company using this app for their logs? Apparently millions are using it and it is DOT compliant. But you can edit whatever you want to. You can edit out any violations or just completely make your hours up. It's even easier to hide and edit out violations than paper logs were.
Generally I'm not an advocate for big government breathing down your neck all day, but I do see the necessity for HOS being regulated. However with an app like this you can just make up whatever. I'm surprised this is allowed.
Thoughts?

Try driving and then edit the logs. That is the only thing that really matters. You cannot edit that drive time.ChevyCam, RockinChair, Woodys and 4 others Thank this.

I have Motive (KeepTruckin')
Great log system. As stated above, try editing drive time, or PC. You can change on duty to off duty and vice versa, but that's it. And FYI, when you send in the logs to a cop, they can see the edits.
If I accidentally drive on PC, I can have my wife switch it to regular drive time on the computer, but I can't do it on my phone. And neither of us, or KeepTruckin' staff can edit drive time at all.RockinChair, OLDSKOOLERnWV, Sirscrapntruckalot and 2 others Thank this. -
I can edit drive time on mine. Every duty status can be changed and edited on mine.Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this.

Do you have a module on your dash that connects to the truck (with a cable to the 9/6 pin), and your phone connects to the module via Bluetooth?
Or is it just an app on your phone?mitmaks, Sirscrapntruckalot and Siinman Thank this. -
You must be the only one that can do so. I can hit edit on drive line and change words but not drive time. You sure?RockinChair, Sirscrapntruckalot and God prefers Diesels Thank this.

Just the app. It's not connected to the truck.God prefers Diesels Thanks this.

Ha Ha I did not even think about that. That is funny!!!Geekonthestreet and God prefers Diesels Thank this.

So you are not using an ELD than just the app. Good luck with that when the DOT ask to see your logs.upnorthwpg, Geekonthestreet, Woodys and 6 others Thank this.

That's the problem. We did the same thing in the oilfield to "pretend" we were compliant.
If your logs aren't connected to the truck and actively getting information from the ECM, I don't think they're legal. 99.99% sure that's the case.
@Ridgeline
@ZVarGeekonthestreet, Woodys, Boondock and 3 others Thank this.
