If you run under your own authority, you would have to have gotten a SCAC code and then applied to Canadian customs to have a company code assigned to your company. Then you would have unique bar codes printed including that code plus a serial number. This would then be applied to the customs paperwork and BOL for the load. This would then go to a customs broker to pre-clear your load to cross the border. The customs broker would then provide you with an ACE manifest bar code (your clearance for Canadian customs) to give to the customs guy to get into canad. There is a pretty steep fine for arriving at the border without the electronic clearance.
also, you likely need to have your insurance guy file a BC-1 (pretty sure this the right number) with the proper BC agency for proo of insurance.
if you leased to a company - they need to have done the above.PoleCrusher, cke, SL3406 and 9 others Thank this. -
Funny thing about Utah and it’s reputation. Go almost anywhere in the country, if you mention Utah, the first thing people usually say, “ you a Mormon?” Or something like that.PoleCrusher, cke, singlescrewshaker and 7 others Thank this.

Just a couple of other details -
BC will limit you truck wheelbase to 244” - I do not believe they will sell a long wheelbase permit either.
You will get very limited weight on a spread axle trailer - on the order of 20k for the 2 axle group rather than 20k per.
sorry if you know all this - I would hate to see you get into trouble and the BC enforcement dudes have a not friendly rep….shawnhhllc, PoleCrusher, cke and 12 others Thank this. -
Well d'amn! I appreciate the time it took you to type that out. I've called border pattrol in Canada several times to make sure i was good, and they all assured me i was good.
Nothin can be easy.
Again, thanks a bunchPoleCrusher, cke, singlescrewshaker and 6 others Thank this. -
I used to run up there when I had my big trailer and it is enjoyable but there are hoops to jump through.cke, PoleCrusher, singlescrewshaker and 6 others Thank this.

Like BigRonnie, I am not trying to be an A Hole, but you said BORDER PATROL. BigRonnie is telling you about Customs. Two completely different things. You already know about the PARS. I don’t know what you are hauling, but if it is machinery, you need a title. It will look like a car title.
Also, since this is your first crossing (they will ask this), be prepared to park your truck, go inside and get interviewed.
Luck in battle.cke, shawnhhllc, singlescrewshaker and 8 others Thank this.
