Did I miss something? Did the original post indicated he had brought the airline into the shop instead of purchasing the part from the shop?

What is the difference between shop fees and the difference for example
Shop fees $ 175 ph
MECH $50ph
Seems to me the shop rate is $125 ph. Why is there an added fee?
I'm not even saying what I think about flat rate That's a whole other scam from dealer's POV.
Shop fees to me are a reasonably new thing and are BS charges.
Deceptive at best.
Tell me up front at least.
Try to tell me dealers don't ''stack'' jobs etc.Last edited: Jun 29, 2022

Spoke to my service advisor friend. Shop fees are charged anywhere they've ever worked the last 25 years.

How many times have I listened in while a Shop Tech reads the repair order to a Company, while getting the comcheck, or account auth. code. It goes like this, fix top trailer light, inspect other lights, found a broken wire, repaired it. Total $26.00 in Parts. 1 hr.. Labor, tax and shop fees. Or installed one mudflap, repaired bracket, $45.00 parts, 1 hr. Labor fee, $50.00 torch fee, tax and shop fees, $165.00. Mega gives them the authorization. Meanwhile I’m asking the driver where the old mudflaps at. Lol. Get your hands dirty, muscles sore, knuckles busted, take a shower, get a steak dinner, or pay someone else, grab a roller dog, or some chef boy RD in a cab. Either way, it’s your choice. Don’t blame others. If you offer $100 bills to 10 strangers, and never see any of them again, whose fault is it?Sirscrapntruckalot, D.Tibbitt, Tug Toy and 2 others Thank this.

If your out this way give me a shout .If I'am around I got about a dozen mud flaps you can have.. I'll meet you at the BP at exit 32 on interstate 35 .. and we can dumpster drive for yesterday's roller dogs if that makes you feel better ...
