Hello their truckers a rookie's 1st post

I'm trucker that's been out of the loop on company driving jobs the last 7 years and don't know if it's time for me to get out of it or WHAT? I'll beat my head against the steering wheel driving a slow truck, electronic logs, & I live in PA so northeast crap runs. Please tell me trucking hasn't completey went to ####. The funniest thing I've done the last 7 years was call CR England and they told me they were only hiring lease operators, I was calling for Co. driver position but kept an open mind and ask what they had to offer she told me .90 - 1.50 a mile. I asked if that was with fuel surcharge or without can you beleive she said what's fuel surcharge as I was trying to explain she just wasn't getting it. I guess they assume they tell drivers they'll give them a truck and they jump on it. I'm thinking this is a shady company & just a company looking for bait. But they all seem this way to me someone give me some insight on what's going on out their PLEASE I'm losing my mind.
