Been rough gents.Sitting at the yard, getting my windshield replaced after a big 300 mile day,and they act like they don't have anything.

Got pulled over for a level one in KS at the very last rest area before CO. My first ever level one in the 18 yrs Ive been around this industry, only ever had 2's and 3's. Went good, just wrote up my license plate peeling on the report, no citations though. I told them I informed my DM over a month ago I needed a new plate, not sure if one was ordered or how long it takes to get a new one, told safety though and supposed to be on it today.

BH customer unloading me early today instead of tomorrow morning. No plan or dead head move yet for tomorrow.

I, too, am on the yard, trying to get a load for tomorrow.

I wound up with a pickup at Jarratt, to deliver in Groveport. I expect that a load from Groveport to a Boars Head distributor will follow.

Quite the day yesterday. After getting my 17th call from yet another new DM, I immediately called in and got the number 2 in charge. Without hesitation, I voiced my total and complete dissatisfaction with the turn of events. We went back and forth all day, and just as my wife and I were sitting down getting ready to watch the Elvis movie at our local stadium seating theater, I got the final call back letting me know that I will not be switching over to my new best friend of a DM. It actually turned out as a good day. I had my mind made up that this was going to be the final straw. I was planning on cleaning my truck out, put in for my vacation, and give my notice. But in the end, it all worked out. Trust me, it’s nice having to not work for food, housing and everyday living. But, apparently the powers to be did the right thing.
navypoppop, Bumper, JoeyJunk and 6 others Thank this. -
Gotta love it when told to show up for a 0900 appt. To get loaded then check in and told they will call u when they have a dock open up. Is it wrong to expect to get a dock and loaded at your appt. time?
navypoppop, JoeyJunk, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this. -
If you are at a place that operates by appointment, then yeah it's pretty reasonable to expect them to have a spot for you when your appointment time rolls around, and I would love to see Abilene increase both detention pay and layover pay to compensate the drivers better when shippers and receivers waste our time. I've been here six years and the detention and layover rates are the same now as they were six years ago. And I'd bet a shiny new nickel they were the same nine years ago when JohnBoy started.navypoppop, JoeyJunk, Lonesome and 3 others Thank this. -
JoeyJunk, Lonesome, ExtremeUnction and 1 other person Thank this.
