Price was always the deterrent for me. Best pair I ever had cost just a few bucks from Army surplus. They had some type of mesh insole, that stayed dry. Couldn’t wear them out. Regular old Soldier type Broganes. Lol. I had them for at least 5 yrs, as a teenager. Finally threw them away. Back then the boot to have was Dingo. I saw a pair a while back. Like Justin and others, cheap junk. I bet a good pair with leather heel would cost $700 now, if they could even be found. Hard to find even good shoes anymore. Everything’s made so cheap,Boondock Thanks this. -
Dr. Martens are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Don't know about steel toe, though.

Yao Ming 7'6" shoe size 18.
I know you're not 7 feet tall you wouldn't be able to fit in the truck. I'm 6'5" shoe size 13 and it's tight for me.JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
You dont get good feedback from the truck with steel toes, or really any protective device you are supposed to wear, the sole is too thick and feathering clutch/go pedals is harder to get a good handle on, just carry a set of your most comfortable regular shoes and wear those for driving.
As for the cold feet, thats why composite toe is way better than steel toe, especially in flatbed and very cold
Again drawbacks will be that boots are bulkier than shoes, you must make the adjustment between them, especially if youre climbing a load. I prefer my adidas sambas (soccer shoe) for securement and sandals for the drive, but my feet also shed tons of heat when im activeMichael-CO Thanks this. -
They have composite toed sneakers available these days.
JoeyJunk Thanks this.
