Freymiller was just bought by a private equity firm, so that would definitely not be the way to go. Most of these firms bleed the company for whatever they can get out of them, then liquidate the rest in a couple years.

According to Freymiller, they were not bought out. They claim that they partnered with a private equity firm and Don Freymiller still owns the majority of shares.
Speed_Drums and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Freymiller doesn't have an all manual fleet. Nearly all of their trucks are automatic. Just like the other companies with automatics, the manuals they do have that get retired are being replaced with new automatics.
Did someone have a recruiter tell him that Freymiller is all manual trucks?Speed_Drums Thanks this. -
Don't listen to what Freymiller says. They will tell you what you want to hear. Take the time to do a little research. It's public information because it is a publicly traded company.Speed_Drums Thanks this.

Just because they will "partner" with David Freymiller during the transition, doesn't mean they don't own the company. Read the words in this link carefully: Angeles Equity Partners Acquires Majority Stake in Freymiller

I noticed Freymiller website now shows "2 yrs. experience needed" to be hired.

I
I would avoid any company that’s been recently bought by a private equity firm
because it WILL get closed down with little or zero notice to the drivers .
It’s happened to every company that’s been bought by private equity .
if someone knows of a trucking company
that’s been gobble up by private equity that didn’t get closed down , post it up and correct me .
the company assets, trucks and real estate are worth a lot more sold individually than the company is worth as a whole functioning business .
Just like a car is worth more as parts than as a running driving car .Last edited: Jul 13, 2022
Chinatown Thanks this. -
The automatics were designed for the women to get in the industry, I have drove a manual 13 speed most of my career (32 years) I drove an automatic one time to Salinas California and while climbing the hills loaded the truck got stuck in 7th gear and stalled, Freightliner came out and dropped the transmission so they could reset it and got me back on the road.... I asked them why they just didn't tow me, there's a lot of dismantling that has to be done before towing an automatic, so the Freightliner Road call guy just fixed it right there off the highway....
I vowed to never drive another automatic again, it was a Freightliner with a Mercedes engine in it, talk about a pile of junk (Screaming)Speed_Drums Thanks this. -
Now that's what I like to read when a qualified driver can book his own loads, the only problem I see is they're nowhere near Missouri
