And that 6.50 a mile load was a six axle load.

Hey I’m not saying you can’t get that. Hell I’ve gotten 10.5 for eight axle.
What I am saying is that’s not a normal every day rate.

    Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

We’ll if that’s non permit 6 axle then that ain’t a bad rate.
My apologies I didn’t zoom in and see pusher axle up.
Next time I’ll be sure to inspect the pictures very very carefully before I comment.
Also are you they guy selling the book??

You can get 10.50 for 5 axles if you’re in the right spot at the right time. Some of it’s luck, some of it is connections. Certainly the 21 dollar a mile excavator going that far isn’t common, but at the weight and going through those states it isn’t out of the realm of possibility. To be completely honest it’d have to pay close to that for me to do it.

Would it be true to say that a lowboy is a certain pass to the wealthy trucker's club?
I'd like to know before I spend any money...

Too bad... $16K a week at the time when a dry van peasant such as me strives to get 4K a week running 1500 miles would be an inspiring idea to cling to.

Before you guys get any bright ideas. It cost close to 3.50 a mile just to break even. And it’s not uncommon to dead head 500 miles or more between loads. All these rates have this guy is talking about are before permits and escorts if needed. Days waiting for states to issue permits.

    it’s not all gravy

Sounds like not a very simple line of operations.

Yeah...I forgot about the escorts...Now I do remember that it was mentioned earlier in this thread that they might make more than the very lowboy operator these days.
