I'm looking to replace steer tires on my Volvo. I have always preferred Michelins, the last couple replacements though I've been unable to purchase any from my local supplier. The truck runs regional up here in the Northeast and I'm not getting the life out of Kelly or Firestone. Wondering what the preferences are these days among others out there .

Look outside your supplier. Plenty of Michelin steers to go around. It’s your suppliers failure. They have become lazy.
Flat Earth Trucker and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
I went with the Continental HS3s after being in a similar situation. They've got about 20k miles on them so far and no complaints.

Not necessarily that they've become lazy, 24.5 Michelin steers are hard to come by anymore. Nobody I've called lately has them on hand and most have no idea when they could get their hands on any.ProfessionalNoticer and Opendeckin Thank this.

I have Toyo M177's on both my trucks. Maybe not the mileage of a Michelin but they work for me. They wear even on my 9900 where some other brands including Michelin didn't.

Got my last set from Pete’s tire barn in MA a few months ago

Meekoff tire. Just bought a pair. Plenty sitting in storage room. If a tire shop doesn’t have any they are lazy and not working harder on fostering their business relationship with the producer. It’s who you know and how well. Always build a relationship. If the tire shop doesn’t have a close relationship with corporate, they are lazy. How did I get a new truck, Reefer unit and trailer last year? I visited dealers, wrote a letter to Paccar(it helped), and stood out from my competition. I also did not overpay. Never, let someone get a head of you in your game. Never settle for good. Recently lost a lane, I asked for more money due to inflation. I lost the lane and was told I was already their most expensive carrier. They did bite on my new rate on another lane I have been working on that they wanted my attention. So now I know I was on top of my competition and still am in the game. The entire country is infected with laziness and mediocre. Everybody thinks of happiness instead of production. Not having stock of a tire when others receive orders bi-weekly. Take on every challenge as if it were combat. Always be the Alpha, otherwise.. Laziness.Last edited: Jul 19, 2022

This lil blue gill is an alpha. Attacks lure almost as long as it. Couldn’t even swallow it. I thought a had a little walleye on while I was trolling. This guy inspires me more than all the excuses I am feed daily.
Big Road Skateboard Thanks this. -
FS 591 have been really good so far, no funky wear patterns. I don't run many miles but they've been on over 2 years now with still about half tread left. Next summer they'll need replacing.
