I am not pointing at you personally, but it has been my experience over the years, and not just in the trucking business, that when a guy gets fired for something trivial, it is generally what I would call a mediocre hand at the best, somebody that they sure do not mind letting go down the road. Hope your next gig works out better for you, watch out for them yeller posts though.
Fired for barely touching pole, no damage

In the trucking world, especially the mega carriers and bottom feeders they don't generally fire a driver for a trivial reason. Reasons said in a forum post might sound trivial, but most of the time we are not hearing the whole story. They might decline a job offer etc for something trivial not disclosed.

I learned very early in life is that your main job was making the company, no matter what profession, the more you put in there pockets, generally the more you can get away with.
Any company only has one reason to keep an employee, generally speaking. -
Unless things have changed since I was there Swift generally avoids applicants with past accidents, even trivial ones. They will hire ex cons though.

I will be a dick. If your truck passed a pretrip, that means it has mirrors. When you have mirrors, it means you can see your trailer. No matter how much experience you have, you can look in those! There is no excuse for dragging your trailer on another driver truck. YOU HAVE MIRRORS AND YOU CAN LOOK AT YOUR TANDEMS. It's really isn't rocket science. If you have eyes, which I think it might be required, although I have my doubts lately, there is no reason whatsoever for forgetting those lovely mirrors.
lester, tscottme, God prefers Diesels and 2 others Thank this.
