So many wild cards in play. By me, they’ve got every auto plant parking lot full of new vehicles waiting on chips. They have rented lots all over, running out of places to put them. I can’t see everything working out smoothly without eventual layoffs or sales incentives. Meanwhile they keep building and stockpiling for the most part. Add all the new electric vehicle investments, it’s anyone’s guess. I’ve tried my best to be insulated from it all. But Automakers play a huge part in the economy, the trickle down effect is real. When everyone’s laid off, Truck drivers and Nurses still work.

I've happily averaged $4500-6k weeks since I started in 2018. I've never had a problem with it. That's between 225 and 300k gross per year and I generally figure on taking home about half of it. I'm happy with those numbers as I always have been but certainly enjoy a $7500 week now and then.

What I like to do is see how few days I can do it in. 4 is ideal.

    What's not to love?

I just hit the jackpot $4.08/gal in Weatherford, Texas...

If I was a "Loves" guy it could have been $4.06/gal :biggrin_2559:

$4.04 including IFTA at Pilot in Lufkin. The OM authorized a 100 gallons.

Is amazing how things get worse every single week.
Flatbed truck postings just reached highest of all time.

It's like everybody and their grandma went out and got a flatbed.

I’ve been floating my fuel this week on a credit card. Finally got my measly detention added to a new rate-con from a Load delivered 2 weeks ago. Gotta love this Business. Got the other 5 loads paid today, the 2 week old Load pays tomorrow, along with this one. So bottom line is. After paying $3000 on the card tomorrow, I’ll have $5000 left for fuel and bills going forward. So far I haven’t tapped into reserves. Don’t plan on it either. If the Truck can’t support itself and myself, it’s time to sell it. Parking it, and spending past savings is a losing proposition. Nothing gained in the end. So for now anyways, I’ll keep Trucking. Headed home for Drs appointment and do a little work around the house, and on the Truck. My bills are relatively low, unlike in the past. I could work half the time, and have quite a bit in the past 2 yrs. Not anymore, still rather do it my way. Right now I’m empty with no load yet for tomorrow. That’s OK. If I were working for someone else, I be anxious, not having a plan. Working for myself, I make the plan as I go along. Much happier this way. Probably never Drive for someone else. I can say this is the only Job I’ve ever enjoyed. Been at it with my Authority since 2004. Had dozens of jobs prior. Lasted 3 yrs at one, because I didn’t have many options. Lasted 7 yrs. leased because it got me home regularly, and because I barely ever saw my employer. Every other Job was a dead end job that I couldn’t imagine staying at a lifetime. Win Lose or Draw, it’s my deal. Do it any way I want. I like that. Money’s not the only motivation. Though I doubt I could do better elsewhere. Even at its worst, it’s better than the alternative. Might take tomorrow off, just because I can. Will decide later. Lol. Having a plan is highly overrated. Guaranteed to change or not work out. My way, there’s no disappointments.

Maybe the us government is doing like the Canadian government and paying meltwater to influence the news they want people to believe…
