Have a 9 speed that slips out of gear sometimes when you you initially go into gear and slips out of gear when not on the throttle. If I take the shift tower off and use a pry bar to to put it in gear it doesn’t slip out. Not sure if it the shift tower or worn shift forks causing the issue.

Detent springs in place?
lester Thanks this. -
After that it is usually the sliding clutch and gear worn down. I thank the purple detent spring is the strongest. One of those might buy you a little time.
Have to knock the top off and look inside.spsauerland Thanks this. -
Be sure the shift tower and O ring in top of it are good.
spsauerland and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
That's a great point.
@truckerbangin, can you describe "slips out of gear"? Are you having to remove the shift tower to get back in place? -
No just removed it to trouble shoot the problem. The sliding clutches look perfectly fine aswellOxbow Thanks this.

Jumping out of every gear, or just one?
-
it doesn’t jump out it just slips out of 1-4/5-8 when I’m not pressing the throttle and coasting. If I hold the shifter it won’t slip out.Big Road Skateboard Thanks this.

I know you said the sluding clutches looked good. Have you seen a worn slider? An unknowing eye might think it ok.
You can see in this pic the sharp edges of the slider. Were yours much more rounded?
