I went to this truckstop for the first time in years the other day and just had to comment.
It is a very nice and clean facility.
The showers look like they are newly renovated.
The food and atmosphere in the restaurant was great.
They had a bakery that made outstanding fritters.
If you find yourself around stopping time on I-94 in that area you should stop some time. It was a very peasant break from the normal truckstop.
Parking is limited as it is a Petro2. But with all the other truckstops around that area it should normally have some parking available till 2000 most days.

Thanks ChromeDome! This, your post, helps to solidify the image I have of truckers....one helping another. Good stuff!

Whats nice about it is, the truckstop, restaurant, and store is not a Petro, just the fuel island and fuel island store. The food is some of the best i have had.
-
Nelson Brothers owns it. Now when they franchised it to Petro, I have no clue! I grew up not far from there & remember the place as a child & stop there every time I travel thru...
Free wi-fi as well & the last I heard the password to access it was "fritters" -
I usually stop on the way through and grab a personal pizza.. they are tasty...

The restaurant is definitely not a petro, they have such good food there I love eating at that place. An if I remember correctly I was laid over there for the weekend and theres a nice bar across the street to. Very nice place.
diesel_weasel Thanks this. -
since first stopping there about 2 years ago I ALWAYS stop there if im going on 94, the apple fritter bread and chicken and wild rice pizza is unreal. plus the holiday convenience store has mexican coca cola made with cane sugar.

This is one of my favorite truck stops. Nelson Bros restuarant has such good food! Not truckstop quality AT ALL. The chicken and wild rice soup with a slice of their homebread bread is super yummy. No need to go across the street if you want a drink anymore either. They have a small bar area in the Nelson Bros restuarant now. Beer and mixed ####tails. Everytime I get the chance I try to snag a load to that area just so I can go there. Living life on the road is hard enough, all the cookie cutter crappy truckstops suck. This place is a gem.

Redd, you grew up not far from there? May I ask where, cause I used to make that turn all the time and head south to go fishing at Clearwater lake. Some of the best panfishing in the state, and some absolutely huge carp in school's bigger than most buses.

Yeah the food is great, you definately won't get skinny eating at Nelson brothers! Parking is tight, very tight, get there early if you want to spend the night!
